Personality:
As a young fairy Maleficent had lost her family and lived on her own. She was genuinely happy and always was able to have a fun time. The inhabitants of the Moores loved her and enjoyed her presence. She knew them all by name and was quick to tease or offer a compliment. She was always there to help and had a great respect for nature around her. She would take time healing trees or plants that needed mending and from time to time would speed up the process of a growing tree. Maleficent was also the biggest of the fair folk in the Moores and they looked to her to guide and protect them. Maleficent always took her time thinking. She's never quick on a decision and when she made a decision it's usually final. When she protected the Moores she never called herself a Queen, but more or less a guardian.
The one thing she didn't trust were humans as there was always a clash between the two races...only when she met young Stefan her feelings had changed. She grew to love him only to be abandoned by him when he left to go serve the King of the human realm. She had thought he was different from them as he took great care to treat her with respect and even went as far as to get rid of the iron ring he had when he learned it had hurt her. She didn't understand the greed that humans were known for and often wondered where Stefan went to. It wasn't until the King of the human realm came to seek out the treasures that the Moore had and launched an attack on them. She defended the Moores and almost killed the king if it weren't for the iron he wore. The inhabitants of the Moores happily served her without doubt and together they were able to protect their land.
Even after Stefan had abandoned her, Maleficent forgave him when he came to seek her out. He warned her how the King was angry with her and wanted her killed. After the battle she had with the King she had grown wary of the humans and Stefan was the only one she had trusted. Although, she did find it peculiar that he would show up after all these years to give her the warning. He had chosen the humans over her. Her trust was once again misplaced as Stefan did the worst thing possible to her, as he took her wings. The wings had been the one thing she was able to identify herself with and she had great pride in them. This act of cruelty also cut deep into her heart as she had tried so hard to forgive and trust Stefan despite all that he done. This act had been the final blow. He had used her to satisfy his own ambition. She had been naive enough to hope that Stefan did this cruel thing to her for other reasons and not for ambition. Maleficent didn't just strike out at any human. Most of her anger was directed toward Stefan and to the men who attacked her. She didn't take her anger out on civilians or at other royalty and nobility. If they were in her way she often used her magic to toss them to the side.
Iron was a big weakness to Maleficent as it would burn her if she touched it or was touched by it. King Stefan later would remember this and relied on the iron workers to protect his men. In his final battle with Maleficent he had used an iron net to capture her and hold her down. Maleficent had a hard time hard time not touching it, and at the same time she couldn't hear or see very well either. She had a hard time with her magic and just the ability to move. It took a lot out of her. If it weren't for Aurora's help with freeing her wings, Maleficent quite possibly would not have survived the fight.
Maleficent had such pride in her wings. She described them to be big and strong and how they never faulted. Her wings were a deep brown and had dragged behind her when she did walk. To speak of her wings brought Maleficent sorrow and pride. It's a topic she wouldn't discuss to just anyone. Looking for a connection of being able to fly again, she freed a raven from being beaten to death and turned him into a human. In return the raven, Diaval, became her loyal servant and helped provide her news . He also allowed himself to be turned into anything that Maleficent needed him to be. She does adapt quickly and used a staff she formed herself to help her walk and eventually learned to ignore the pain that came from losing her wings. She used Diaval as her wings and he became her eyes and ears as well. At the same time Diaval provided a sense of balance for Maleficent. He was one of the few people that she could trust and confide in and he wasn't afraid to state his mind. He was able to see things in another light when she was too blind to see it. Often she would come to accept his thoughts and opinions or she would ignore them.
Due to the act of Stefan having taken her wings to become a king, in revenge she placed a curse on Stefan 's child, Aurora. The curse was that on her 16th birthday she would prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into a sleep like death. It would only be broken by a true love's kiss. Her curse was a mockery on the relationship they had growing up and she enjoyed making Stephen look like a fool in front of his people as he tried to beg her to not place the curse. At the same time she fell under her own curse, not realizing that the curse would also affect her as well. Part of that curse was "will be loved by all that meet her" and that does include herself. Maleficent continued to watch the child grow up from a distance with mixed feelings. In a sense she became the child's guardian as the three pixies that were entrusted to look after her weren't exactly good at their job. She always made excuses for her actions, but they were half hearted. She often loved to torment the pixies that took care of Aurora even if Diaval didn't approve. It was one of the few times she could be found laughing even if it was at others' expenses.
What puzzled her a lot was when Aurora had approached her as a toddler and didn't even fear her. She had even asked to be picked up; in which, she showed fascination for Maleficent's horns. Maleficent found the whole situation awkward and unsettling. When Aurora became older and was becoming more curious about her surroundings, Maleficent allowed her into the Moores, wanting to see what she would do and how the inhabitants would react. Aurora was immediately loved by the people and Maleficent eventually allowed herself to be seen and was startled that Aurora claimed she knew who she was. Aurora openly called her 'Fairy Godmother' claiming how she knew that she had always been watched since she was a child. This also seemed to be a turning point for Maleficent in which it her hatred of Stefan switched to protecting and keeping Aurora safe.
The times spent in the Moores with Aurora slowly got Maleficent to open up again. She was reminded of how she had once been that happy and enjoyed everything about the Moores and its people. She even joined in on the fun as well. The people of the Moores even began to notice the subtle changes in their leader. She grew to love the child and often invited her to the Moores. She even attempted to revoke her own curse and failed to do so. The only reason that she failed was for the fact she didn't understand her own curse. She had always believed that there was no true love due to what happened with her and Stefan. It was meant to be a mockery. She didn't understand why she couldn't revoke the curse she had placed and then sought to try to free Aurora of it. Only it wasn't until Aurora fell under the curse did she realize her love for the child and openly admitted it and swore to protect her. It was then that the curse was broken and freed Aurora.

Abilities:
Maleficent has the ability to heal and grow trees, plants, and flowers. She can also mold the tree to the way she wants it or make it grow faster. When she was younger she spent a lot of her time healing the Moores and helping it grow.
As an adult she forged a thorn barrier to protect them so the men could no longer intrude. She also tore down a stone wall that was a path that led to the Moores. When they were at peace she took the thorn barrier down.
She can turn animals into whatever she wishes. Only she chooses to do this with a raven named Diaval and turned him into a human. He allowed her to turn him into whatever form she needed him as. He had been turned into a wolf, horse, and dragon to aid her.
She liked to use her magic to torment the men by having them fly up into the air and follow her every movement like a puppet. When it's not the men she's tormenting she's poking fun at the pixies like making it rain in their cottage.
Maleficent can also put Aurora to sleep and then have her floating behind her when she gets to be too much for her to handle.
She also has the ability to place curses and used it as an act of revenge. With that curse she can also feel that the curse has been completed.
When she's at peace the color of her magic is a cold color, but when she's angry it's a dark green.

Please note there was a belated realization about Diaval being a crow but was actually a raven. That's been corrected in the app.

She was lost and confused. Warily, Maleficent stepped out of the train and to the platform. She leaned heavily on her staff that thankfully was still with her. Her long black cloak traveled behind her as she walked. All she knew was that this wasn't the Moores that much she knew. She had been whisked away to some unfamiliar place. Was this King Stefan's doing? Or something else entirely? Her first instinct was to call out for Diaval, but when he didn't answer or arrive right she grew worried.
Not that any expression had shown her face. She kept expression neutral. She wasn't going to let others know what she was feeling. Only after the initial shock wore off, she became angry. Where was Diaval her loyal companion? Where was her precious Aurora, her Beastie?
She had no one she could trust or confide in and for once she truly felt alone. She wanted to lash out at this strange world for imprisoning her. So she took her anger out on the buildings nearby, letting her magic wreck havoc on them as she walked along. She didn't care if people were nearby or were in the building's. Whoever did this would be punished.
Everything was so confusing to her. She had never been in a city and really didn't know how it worked. She ceased with the destruction as she struggled to focus. She had only been to King Stefan's castle. All the sights, sounds, and smells were confusing and she had a hard time focusing. It only made her more agitated. This was where she could really use Diaval's help as he knew the humans better than she did.
But he wasn't there and that only made her more angry. She moved to hide in the shadows, trying to avoid people and the stares of anyone passing by. She needed to find a place to recollect her thoughts. She eventually found her way to the clock tower where she climbed to its top. She found the place a good observing point and gazed at the city around her. She used the time observing to collect her thoughts and plan.
